Why do you think tito was on the downhill slide, he had just made oscar run, destroyed vargas and reid the 2 154 champs, and then destroyed joppy the mw champ...

Hopkins i dont think was that much bigger than tito, tito was a solid MW and would beat every MW at the time except hopkins

I didnt think his punches had quite the same speed and snap in the hopkins fight and I feel hopkins was much bigger physically than tito. thats not to say tito was shot by any means,,,but I feel he was slipping even tho he was coming off impressive performances

Bernard was too big for Trinidad. Just look at the width of Hopkins' shoulders compared to Trinidads. Adding weight is one thing, adding the strength is another. Trinidad weighed in 2 lbs under the limit for that fight, a naural middleweight could walk around at 170-180 lbs easily just a week or two before the official weigh-ins. You know Bernard dropped weight, Trinidad might have dropped a miniscule amount for the weigh-ins. Hopkins was just the naturally stronger of the two. Now Trinidad can box but Bernards experience and skill showed over Trinidad. Add in the natural strength advantage and I'd say that Trinidad did a hell of a job just to make it to the 12th round........... Rockin'

yea hopkins started his career at middleweight whereas trinidad had to age and grow into it. no doubt hopkins is the much bigger guy

True, but at the same time, tito was clearly the best mw in the world not named hopkins,,

I would favor him over everyone else at the time..

But yes hopkins was naturally bigger

It would have been more precise to say that size alone did not win the fight for Hopkins. But when you add that to Hopkins' experience and skill it's a HUGE factor.

Trinidad is one of the fighters that caught my eye and I watched alot of his bigger bouts. He wasn't flashy and he always seemed to be dusting himself off in the 2nd round but man, what a left hook. He could be outboxed if the opponent possesed such polished skills. Great little fighter though! Had he stayed with the welters he could have reigned for many more years. One enjoyable fighter to watch........... Rockin'

Can you imagine tito in today's welter division

without a doubt he ruins broner, garcia, maidana, ortiz, thurman, bradley, jmm, manny, porter, alexander,,,,

only floyd would have a chance, and honestly i think tito would walk thru floyd, i dont think floyd has enough firepower like oscar did to keep tito at bay
