Hi mate, yes he was chasing champions worth beating, his natural division didnt have much competition or big names.

Jackson's first title shot(lost) was against McCallum. Then when McCallum moved to middleweight Jackson fought for the vacant light middleweight title.
Later when Duran beat Barkley for the WBC middleweight title, he moved up for the money at super middleweight and rematch with Sugar Ray Leonard leaving the title vacant and Jackson fought Graham for it.
Jackson lost the title to McClellan and when McClellan moved up to fight Benn. Jackson fought Agostino Cardamone for the vacated title.

Not really much ducking happened IMO.

Lol, the ko of Graham, is, and always will be, my favourite knock out of all time.. Really liked Bomber Graham, was gutted when it happened. Graham winning by a country mile, got careless, then suddenly switched off in mid-air.

Okay good, that's what I thought based on what I've heard about Jackson. So why never undisputed or lineal/Ring champion then? And how come McCallum wasn't either, while I'm at it?

as others mentioned, there's a hell of a lot more than brute power that goes into being a great puncher. jackson had great offensive timing. he got to even a gunshy opponent when his gloves were not at home.

i can't think of anybody who so effortlessly rendered men of his size unconscious.

Brilliant point. You didn't want to give him the faintest opportunity because he had a knack for taking immediate advantage of defensive openings. He was always so locked in and knew how to deliver his shots to maximum effect. Even in bouts in which he was being outfought or outclassed (e.g. Graham and Norris), once the opponent made one mistake it was lights out.
