I would rate tyson higher than benetiz

When do a top 100 list or whatever, i usually judge a guy by his absolute peak,,,

tyson from 85-88 spinks fight was the most destructive force the world of boxing had ever seen,,
Yes he fell off big time after the spinks ko, but for 3 years he was the baddest man on the planet and cleaned out the heavy division,,
Benitez was never that guy,, He was a great fighter but top 100, he is in the 90s and mike is probably for me somewhere between 50-75...

Both great fighters but i have tyson slightly ahead

The funny thing about tyson, is if he pulls a marciano and retires after the bruno fight, tyson would be held much higher in ATG rankings,,

Marciano retired because of serious back issues. He also had arthritis in his shoulders and training became difficult! Plus he beat everyone they put in front of him so he stopped while on top! Ray.

It was just a hypothetical, but i could see someone who retires at 23 because they are undisputed champ with about 50 million in the bank.....

That may be true,,, Im just making the point that if tyson had done the same and just retired after the bruno fight, maybe he just lost interest after being on top would be the reason, he would be held much higher than he is today, and he had beaten everyone they put in front of him up til that point

Benitez was unbeaten for longer than Tyson and only lost to an ATG, so I'm not sure how you can say that Tyson was more dominant.

You make a good point,,, I just think that tyson from 85-88 was just a monster, Benitez was a great fighter as well, i just think a peak tyson is slightly better than a peak benitez,, Just my opinion,, I can totally understand if someone had benitez higher than mike,,, I think that would be justified as well
