The straight right is very powerful it has full hip rotation, BUT because its powered by rotation and it is a linear strike the force is not transmitted as effeciently as a right hook, so I presume again it isnt the most powerful punch.

The right uppercut is powerful gets full hip rotation, but the rotation is channeled up so the force may not be transmitted as effeciently as a purely rotational punch like the right hook, and it goes against gravity somewhat.

The right hook is the most powerful because it gets full hip rotation, the arc of the arm is congruent with the rotation of the body so its a pure punch, and it takes a long time to reach the target giving it plenty of time to build up speed.

What do you think is the most powerful punch and why?
I don't really know enough about it to say what is the most powerful possible punch but I will boldly venture forth my opinion that the Wing Chun technique is not among the most destructive of blows and probably useless with gloves on. The jumping spinning backfist is illegal in the sport so I guess we can count that one out as well.

I would assume whatever the puncher's strong hand (meaning, is he right-handed or left-handed) is would be his hardest punch.

Oscar DeLaHoya fought out of a righty stance but is really a left-hander. That's why his left hooks and uppercuts were so much more powerful than his right hand.

i think u r descrbing a right cross thrown not so straight in an effort to dig in harder with it. my answer to the question tho is the left hook to the body. all the weight in the heavy bag is felt at the bottom of the bag so as youngster when u begin feeling your power u fall in love with diggin the left to the lower side of the bag and in your mind, you cant wait to land that on somebody to see what it feels like so every chance u get you drill the bag like that which makes it even stronger n crisper.

the left hook is responsible for causing the majority of knockouts
