Did Gerry Cooney have the snappiest punch ever in boxing history?

Not everytime he throws a punch but sometimes it looks inhuman.

Specifically when he knock out a guy with a left shovel hook or a hookercut as some people like to call them.

My God the velocity and snap on that thing is out of this world, I cant even think of an analogy for it because its so freakishly fast snappy powerful and unusual.

If theres a better example of snap than Gerry Cooneys shovel hook/left hook, then I want to know!

I think tommy morrison had more snap in his hook but cooneys was very powerful without a doubt. probably as hard or harder than morrisons. too bad those guys had crap chin and stamina or theyd have been champs

ive seen cooney workout and yes he had alot of snap. he just hit so damn hard. i also saw foreman and tyson workout but cooney hit hardest with one hand and he was so tall and big, could kill you with a jab a mile away. if he took a punch better and had real stanima hed have been a champ and would still be a champ. very scary puncher. hardest ive seen in person. snappy/powerful is a great description

No. Cooney could punch, and has been cited by some good fighters to have one of the strongest punches they've faced. But I think I could name at least a dozen or two who I would rate higher across all weightclasses.

But he certainly did have a very snappy punch.
