A very good point with which I agree. To me a classic example of that principle was the Leonard-Hagler bout. Yes, nearly every round was "competitive", and yet IMHO Ray kept winning them one after another. Not by much, but by enough. So the upshot was that the fight was closely fought within each individual round, yes, yet I couldn't award Marvin many rounds at all (and I watched & scored it very carefully, and if anything was pro-Hagler). So on my card it wasn't close by total round tally, if I make myself clear. All that to say that I agree w/you.

Wow, that is exactly how I saw and scored the Leonard/Hagler bout lol, still one of my favorite fights of all time.

I had both the Cotto and De La Hoya fights 9-3 for Floyd. Often we tend to confuse competitive for close. Being in the round and winning a round are two different things. Not saying you're getting things twisted, just speaking generally. Interested in knowing how you scored it because I know we agree on somethings.

Yes, i feel ya... Im usually not far off the general consensus, except for those 2 fights, and williams-lara, i think im the only one on the planet that thought it was a close fight,, but i only watched it live and never rewatched it...
