Ward has a better resume,,, so does froch... but joe might have been a better fighter than both,,, i truely think joe's volume punching, angles, and all around skill would cause ward problems down the stretch,,, Ward fights like hopkins but without the super great defense,,, I think a joe-ward fight would be very similar to joe-bhop
But i think hearns, toney and jones were better fighters than joe,,, they may not have as long of a career at that weight but i think they could be joe...
Joe is top 3,4 in division all-time but not the greatest,,,
I agree with The Surgeon on this one (from another thread). Whilst he may not have the greatest resume out of all the fighters to compete in the 168lb weight class, a prime Roy Jones Jr would beat anyone else at that weight. Roy's SMW career was the pinnacle of a truly gifted fighter and athlete in general enjoying his physical prime.
