Both are my favourite Mexican fighters, but I would give a slight edge to Barrera. I love his style and still watch his fights today.

Anyway, as far as their 3 bouts go, I had Marco winning the first one and the second as well. I forgot how I scored the third match, but I probably gave it to Barrera as well.

But thatīs just my opinion, I have a ton of respect for Erik Morales, of course, I will never forget especially that win over Pacquiao, unforgettable match.

Yea, I tend to shade Barrera too, definitely head to head. Funnily enough I think the finest Barrera performance ever happens to be the first fight with Morales despite the faulty (in my opinion) scoring.

Both fighters were inconsistent though and at times under performed. But taking their greatest wins/performances I think history will rank them fairly closely.

These guys were Great, and even greater together! Add in Marquez and i call them the three amigo's! (Throw in Pacquiao and u have the Four Little Kings!) I find it very hard to split the three of them tbh and im a fan of them all too.
I dont know who is the best but in terms of who i like better if u pushed me i would have to say

Very tricky to separate them. I think I'd probably have Morales the tiniest bit higher, though would never argue much against Barrera being higher. Most people will have Barrera higher probably based on the two wins he has over Morales, though Morales clearly won their second, I think he lost the first and third.

Then again, Barrera was KTFO by Jones, then lost a decision, while Morales stopped Jones in four. Of course, morales also has the huge win over Pac while Barrera got stopped and decisioned. I would say that makes up for their three very close fights, which Barrera took two of.

Apart from that, they both have great resumes full of top wins over numerous divisions. Really hard to truly separate them, but I'd have to go with El Terrible.

kinda off topic, but since somebody mentioned it earlier...its crazy how it seemed certain that marquez was gonna end up as the outsider and least decorated/respected among the light mexicans at the time. Then marquez outlasted all of them and reinvented himself as the new best mexican(not mexican-american) fighter of this generation..just a shame morales and marquez never fought in their primes.

I have to go with Morales! By a little margin, but morales is superior to barrera IMO . Actually i think a prime vs prime Morales would SD Marquez

I tend to lean towards barrera,,, he beat undefeated prince and morales,,,,

Morales was the more exciting of the 2, and had a great win over manny

but head 2 head i thought MAB won all 3 contests,,,,
