Swarmers Who Could Fight Backing Up?

**** Tiger wasn't necessarily a "swarmer" but he could swarm and he could also fight off the back foot. -
**** Tiger is a good shout, he tried to box against Griffith to a large extent. Didn't work too well though. Pryor could back up and box for relatively brief periods. Not sure if he was being properly backed up though. A typical swarmer when being bettered on the inside tend to just keep pushing until they either succeed or fall to the canvas.Comment

Of course he didn't have it all his way, no one would when trying to box GriffithComment

I haven't seen the second Tiger Griffith fight but you are right that in the first fight he did fight well from the outside but why didn't he swarm Griffith? I felt Griffith deserved the decision although it was close. Having said that the copy of the fight that I scored from was missing 2 rounds and I had Griffith by 2 rounds! Tiger was at his best when he was very aggressive, pouncing then swarming.Comment

Lost the second one comfortably but he was slipping quite swiftly at that point.
Definitely at his most comfortable coming forward. He just was adaptable.
He did similar things accross the Giardello fights. Boxed a little when you'd think he'd take it too him. I guess he was also confident in his boxing ability to attempt and do well against these elite counter punchers. I'd say he was a little reluctant to make mistakes considered they could so swiftly make him pay.
The contrast In comparison to the final Fullmer fight for example, is quite staggering.
He was just a versatile fighter I suppose.Comment
