"Rumble in the Jungle" - What a fight, I've seen the documentary "When We Were Kings" several times. Such an amazing buildup and the fight itself was truly amazing.
But I have some questions, Foreman did seem to get up about when the referee had counted to nine. My first question - do you think it was the right choice to stop the fight? Foreman was up before ten and that was only the first knockdown of the fight, he hadn't been hurt that much if at all before that. Personally I do not question the stoppage at all, Foreman looked like he was done.
And secondly, if Foreman got to continue what would have happen? I just think Foreman was too tired both physically and mentally. That was his first time being dropped to the canvas to my knowledge and it was a new situation for him - being hurt. I think Ali would have danced around him popping the jab eventually dropping him again with a right.
