I am not sure what the TS had in mind by Asian fighters. Because i take it to mean a fighter who fought the bulk of their career in an Asian country. Kostya Tszyu was born in Russian and fought out of Australia. His dad was Korean, so he has Korean blood. There was once a thread here about if he was Asian or not. But usually he simply labeled as a Russian/Australian fighter.

I didn't include Nonito Donaire was a Filipino fighter as he came to the US at the age of 9. Most importantly, Donaire didn't compete for the Phils in the Olympics, but he did trial out for the US Olympics which he loss a disputed decision to fellow Pinoy-American Brian Viloria.

If you want to include Asian heritage regardless of country than those two above could make the list.

Don't forget Kobayashi and Numata. Certainly two of the very best Japanese champs. Beat some great fighters, both were Undisputed, lineal 130 pound champs at a very deep era. Excellent fighters.

Apart from the first half of his career, Suzuki Ishimatsu had a great second half. Incredible.

Jung Koo Chang gets overlooked for me, as does Sahaprom.

man u guys knowasian boxing. never got to see much of them here in the states. i do remember a mf of a 130lb from the phillipines rolando navarette, n 2 of the hardest hitting 135lb ever ganigan n the guy who whacked gamache. then the thai 140 champ saensak muangsurin, korean 140 champ park, and a handfull of middleweights who picked up belts, mihara, chong pal park, shinji takehara, in chul baek. i once watched a feather from japan, shig ***uyama almost tear half sean ogrady'sface off but got himself knocked out in the process. i think the announcers said that this ***uyama had a win over danny little red lopez but that well i could check it on boxrec. anyway, i wouldnt really b able to fairly rate them but there has been a number of asian fighters inthe game

Speaking of Asians, I heard there was a Chinese fighter on the HBO undercard last week. They didn't show him fight, just highlights and mentioned him and said he was pretty popular in his home country. Anybody watch this and remember his name? Undercard of Donaire/Rigondeaux.

Probably doesn't qualify... but Aaron Pryor had a Japanese great-grandparent.

In fact, all the Kameda's are overrated except the little one, and even he probably won't live up to what he should.

Yoko Gushiken is a guy who was a move forward monster. I give you some credit for him, probably da fro though. Jiro Watanabe is a good fighter too. Last but not least Eijiro Murata.

Put it lightly, you don't know **** about Japanese Boxing
I usually don't hold grudges or even take these heated online arguments serious. One poster here called Bigstereotype said he hoped that i drown and died. I still hold no ill feelings for that.

But since you called me out on this thread, may i ask how did that prediction turn out? LOL. Sato stopped in eight rounds in Thailand
