Arguello would have knocked that little loud mouth ****** boy out. I would bet on that. Nothing would be sweeter because Arguello had class. Mayweather is just a low life ****** punk. I miss fighters like Arguello and Monzon. All business, class, and if you haven't watched them you are missing out.
I'm not sure I'd say that Monzon had class...

So, Arguello KOs Floyd simply because Floyd talks too much?

As great as Arguello was and as enjoyable as he was to watch, the truth is he really could be bothered by speed and movement. Floyd would be very, very difficult for Alexis. I'm ok with anyone thinking Arguello could beat Floyd, but to think he'd just easily KO him is to ignore the style matchup between the two.

Arguello was a more enjoyable fighter to watch (in my opinion), but he moved forward rather slowly and worked best countering. This would be a real problem against someone with Mayweather's speed, sharpness, and skills.

Look at Arguello's first fight with Vilomar Fernandez. Yeah, Floyd wouldn't move as much as Fernandez did, but he'd move enough while being harder to hit than Vilomar was and far more potent offensively.

It's a very bad style matchup for Arguello.

            This is true.

Arguello is my favourite fighter, Mayweather is also one of my favourite fighters. I think both could win but in terms of who I think would win I think Mayweather.

You put it well, Arguello was almost more comfortable countering. He could force a fight, he could beat top counter punchers. He proved that. But, he also struggled at times.

You mentioned the obvious one, Fernandez. Who he struggled badly with.

Ramirez is another one. Ramirez, despite being a very underrated boxer IMO, wasn't a great boxer on the level of Mayweather. And Arguello struggled badly with him and really was lucky to get the decision over Ramirez.

If I had to pick, I'd pick Mayweather by decision.

Mayweather would be terrible stylewise for Arguello.

When I try to think who is the 130er with the best chance to beat PBF, I always come up with Saddler. Arguello is greater than Saddler, but styles make fights.

                  I agree completely.

Arguello is the greater of the 3 but Saddler would definitely pose big problems for Mayweather whereas I think he'd have an easier time with Arguello.

                  Arguello-Saddler would be awesome.

One thing about Arguello aside from his amazing ring career is how much of a gentleman he was inside and outside of the ring. He defined the term sportsman. During and after his career alot of his immense popularity went beyond his great fighting career and to what a likeable and respectful man he was.
