I blame Custom Auto more than I blame Patterson. Floyd apparently wanted to fight him a lot earlier than he did.

Archie Moore didn't get a shot at the title until he was 39. Somebody must have been ducking him badly.

No doubt about that. The fight happened because of Patterson. Avoiding the fight still made him look bad though.
