I'm not saying you're not somewhat correct but personally I do not see what bone density really has to do with K.O power. I know many guys with huge forearms/wrists etc and can't hit for **** despite having pretty good technique.

Funnily enough I feel guys with skinny wrists/forearms etc on the whole tend to **** a lot harder.
Thomas hearns had a huge frame. with little mass. bones weight has a lot to do with it, a harder, heavier object coming at you at a faster velocity will always hurt more.

I've always felt punching power is attributed by many different factors myself - Strong legs, timing, accuracy, technique, speed, etc

But if you take some guys, not really fast, poor technique (arm punchers) not great accuracy. I mean say George Foreman - Bit of an arm puncher and that but boy was he heavy handed!
I think you've either got great power or you haven't. I firmly do believe punchers are born not made.
foreman in his prime was anything but an arm puncher.

technique > when it comes to power. But I know some rreally hard natural hitters and they all tend to be naturally strong to begin with.

For lack of a better answer, I'd say because the Rock spent extra time on the heavy bag and put his whole torso into the punch, rather than just his arms.

            Compact punches, leverage.

There seems to be different theories about punching power. I was once told that lanky fighters like Hearns punch hard due to leverage. They can "drop" their body weight onto shorter opponents.

I have been in to many boxing gyms all my life to be blinded by the facts that punchers are born not made, of course anyone can learn to punch harder thru better technique and conditioning but i have seen to many newbies walk into the gym and shake the building with no technique and only God-given power.
And i remember reading somewhere that at first the Rock was labeled a no- hoper when he fist walked into the boxing gym and then they saw his extraordinary punching power and then invested the time to teach him how to box.

I thought Marciano did some kind of physical labor that built up his strength before he was a boxer.
