The truest success story to me out of all listed is Marvin Hagler. He still is ****** rich.....and got out of the game with the fans wanting more, his faculties intact, and his folk-hero status heightened by exiting due to a perceived injustice.

He was smart with his money and not ****** like most modern day fighters. BHOP has been pretty smart with his money from what I've heard he even do his own taxes.

Okay, I understand, but you should know that, even though he was billed as Rick or Ricky Steamboat, he wasn't called The Dragon until he got to the WWF. If you wanna keep it boxing related, then, not only is he in the 2 boxing halls of fame, but Mike Tyson is also in the WWE Hall of Fame.

I believe he's also a folk hero because he's one of the toughest men to ever set foot in a boxing ring and fought everyone and didn't duck anyone, as was becoming more common in boxing by then.

Not to go too far off topic but how can the law be that ******? We're going to award your ex-wife your nickname even though no one calls her that

The court didn't order it. It was part of the a settlement. My guess is that the ex wanted to use it for leverage because she wasn't happy with her payoff.

There's a lot of ******, illogical laws, especially when it comes to divorce. That's why they have pre-nuptial agreements, otherwise wives somehow feel entitled to their husband's money or stage name or boxing championship belt. And then, you still have to be careful and make sure there isn't some loophole that can later be exploited before you both sign it. And women wonder why we're not in as big a rush as they are to get married.

So, in a nutshell, there are a lot of ****** laws and divorce laws are by far IMO the ******est. I've known and known of way too many divorced guys that have just been screwed by the "justice" system. Didn't Kobe Bryant just have to give up a huge chunk of his money? I mean, I know he cheated on his wife, but that should cost him 190 million? Just makes no sense. The only time a guy should have to pay should be if the wife hasn't worked in a long time or for child support. Child support has a time limit, but alimony doesn't in a lot of cases and it should. I read about a guy recently that got divorced 20 years ago, paid alimony, then, after getting remarried, his new wife had to get another job to held pay off the new alimony payments of this ex-wife from 20 years ago.

Do a google search or one on Bing sometime or open up a national newspaper and you'll hear a lot more unfair, baffling cases like this. I might actually vote for a politician if one of them made the laws more fair. Holy crap, sorry that was so long, but it's a topic that just ticks me off. Bill Burr here on his podcast explained it pretty well too:
