yeah, i don't know about that. he was all of 23 years old.
I am not implying that Sanchez was on the way down. I am saying that what you saw at 126 was the best of what he had to offer. Everyone assumes his death kept us from seeing him reach greater heights while I think he had reached his greatest heights.

I really can't favor Sanchez in a rematch against Nelson.

Your welcomed to your opinions and I don't really care what you think of mine! None of you have ever trained a pup as far as I can tell let alone an amatuer or pro boxer so don't quote and comment on my opinions because you have no merit or substance. Everyone has an opinion some are based on life experiences and some are based on.........................opinion! HA! Ray

          You're guessing about people.

Let me tell you....you come on here and post like everyone else. You seem to think because we're on here talking we've never been involved in the sport. Wouldn't that mean you also haven't really been involved?

All it appears you've learned from your supposed involvement is how to talk down to people. I absolutely see no evidence of your alleged history translating into you knowing what the hell you're talking about. You seem to know **** about Sal Sanchez, so where the hell does your great experience come into play? Seems to me your experience taught you nothing.

The only reason he had trouble in the early rounds was because Nelson was a really good fighter and Sal and his team have never seen him fight ever before. Once Sal got used to it, he crushed Nelson.

Nelson had plenty of disadvantages going into that fight as well. If you're going to emphasize the things Sanchez had going against him, don't conveniently ignore that Nelson had even more. No international experience, no fights against any serious opposition in his career, no 15 round fights, his fitted mouthpiece was stolen forcing them to cut one from raw plastic, etc.

i'm with jabs here. most who reply never say sanchez, only on tapes. never lived the moment. he was deceptivley fast and with real skill. did everything well. not great but well schooled. would have beaten all mentioned in my opinion.

I guess we are just do just that guessing. It would have been nice to see a rivalry build between sanchez and nelson.

Not to mention probably the most striking disadvantage, being that Nelson was given the fight 8 days prior.

He had trouble with Nelson because Nelson was a future great. He beat Nelson because Nelson was green and a SUBSTITUTE.
