For me, it's that simple. I don't even feel the need to go into detail because anybody with knowledge of their careers has to know this.

this topic has opened up alot of good debate. My intent of bringing it up was to compare some of the some similarites ie oly gold medals gloden boy type of charisma and their was an atempt by each to fight the best of there era. Leonard had the better opponents because he fought in a stonger era. Frankly I do not know much about oscars era and have learned a great deal from your comments on this topic.

*In the ring*, SRL was is of the greatest fighters I have seen footage of. Oscar not even close.

The only point i would give to DLH is that while he abused his star power in negotiating and cherry picking, he was never as ridiculous as SRL was in doing it. With ludicrous singing career, fishnet and all, Oscar is still more of a man outside the ring.

would you be kind enough to divulge leonard's ridiculous and... depraved demands?

Here is one. He demanded that the lightheavyweight champion defend his title at a 167 lb weight limit.

This one is probably the worst.
Then you can add the negotiations for the Hagler fight.
Or his "interesting" policy on rematches.

Leonard is the miles better boxer, in terms of skills and resume but I think Oscar's rep has been slightly tarnished by the latter years of his career. Unfortunately the Trinidad and Mosley fights went against him. I had Oscar beating Trinidad and Mosley 2. Oscar, on his day, could be a beast.

It was amazing how leonards camp go so much money in relation to durans purse in the first fight. Duran was already an atg lightweight and the split was 9 mill to 1.5 mill. I guess that served as motivation as he kicked Leonards bu77.
Ray was very good at getting prime dollars . Ray Leonard was a excellent fighter who beat some excellent boxers. It would have been nice to see ray fight tommy three times but I guess it was not to be.
