Chamberlain was an oustanding athlete as a young student at Kansas. he was a 440 & 880 runner and a high jumper too! Most people remember him at 290 to 310 at the end of his NBA career but at one time he was 275lbs and extremely agle with stamina and strength. The boxing career might have been a reality except that Wilt was not violent person and it took alot to get him angre even when being purposely fouled in basketball!
i have no doubt that if he had the mental make up needed to fight he could have been the most imposing person in boxing. At 7'1" and over 285lbs and "trim" he'd be impossible to box, you'd have to fight him and that man had big power because he was agile with speed and power!
No doubt in my mind at all, I remember seeing film on him in track and being amazed at his abilities! Ray.
