    wilt vs ali

This fight almost happened after ali lost to frazier. Cus de amoto was going to train wilt. Would wilt have had any chance at all? Cus was also going to train jim jacobs who was the worlds hand ball champ for many years to fight archie moore at one time.

Chamberlain would have had a very fitting first name because that's what he would have done.

The hype for this gimmick was in the 1960's, before Ali's layoff.

So I'm guessing easy payday, but Wilt would have no chance. They could've made it an exhibition and still sold tickets and TV time and made a decent payday probably.

Speaking of gimmicks, how did that boxer vs. wrestler match go with Ali and Antonio Inoki? I heard Inoki mostly dropped down and threw a lot of leg kicks, is that true?

              wrestler ali

according to thomas hausers book on ali it was orginally supposed to be fixed with ali knocking him out then the wrestler jumping him from behind and pinning him. In reality ali hit him with 4 punchs and the wrestler kicked ali in the legs while lying on the floor. Ali had badly bruised legs and fans had poor show. It was ruled a draw.

The only thing Wilt would've done spectacularly was fall.

Maybe if he'd gotten into the sport as a younger man, he would have a better chance, but he was a basketballer, not a fighter.

I saw that fight live on closed circuit TV. It was awful. Neither man wanted to engage and since the match wasn't fixed it wasn't even entertaining. Those 15 rounds felt like forever.

Wilt was a helluva player, but Ali would've kicked his ass big time.
