Anywhere between 6-10, don't see him as being greater than Robinson, Greb, Langford, Charles or Armstrong.
Can't set a definitive place / number for anyone in the top 10 really.

As a Lightweight he could fight in any era and compete that alone is an accomplishment these days. He would win often but lose to other great competitors and thats the beauty of the sport when the competition is at a high level! He fought out of a boxers style and his techniques in boxing and fighting were very good! He had enough hand speed and plenty of power to keep all opponents busy! He knew the importance of gaining angles and as a young fighter was already using feints and pivot moves that most fighters don't trust themselves to do until years of experience are gained. Excellant head and upper body movement along with a two handed attack and rarely waiting for his opponent to get off were other qualities Duran displayed. Everyone talks about his "machizmo" as a positive note however I don't! I think Duran could be his worst enemy at times when he got to personal with opponents. I like him much better when he displays no emotion and sticks to business without the muggings and antics. Duran being Duran is with a scowl on his face and getting off first and punching in multiple combinations. Also fighting the full three minutes every round and not being concerned about pacing himself! Where he places in "a top ten" I really don't care about that crap, I know he could compete in any era thats plenty good enough. Theres current champions that couldn't compete in other times so being an all time great is more of an accomplishment then making a fans top ten. As if Duran would give a **** what we think HA!!! Ray.

One thing about Duran that isn't widely recognized is just how little he actually fought at lightweight outside of title fights. His campaign at that weight specifically was actually fairly abbreviated, though his title reign spanned a long period.

Duran had great endurance, power and elusiveness at lightweight. I would have liked to see him take a shot a jww prior to leonard but that was not in the cards.
One of the best to put on the gloves.

I have him behind Ali & RJJ and in a cluster with Leonard, Monzon, and Chavez for 3-6

It's not crazy to have him outside the top 10.

                  I have him around 9.

give him 3 fights against anybody at lightweight and I reckon he'd get the best of the 3 - i just wish that 'no mas' had never happened
