Obviously probably the most shocking one or not the most well known one os the original No Mas fight so lets exclude it.

Just a little "knowledge" to pass along here! When your drained and fatigue is not going to be reversed your emptied inside. I believe thats what happened to this young man, and when your empty you can begin to cramp and your blood flow isn't pushing correctly from lack of good oxygen and your furthest extremedies get impared. I watched the fight and saw this young man try hard to perform but I know what I believe he was going through to be futile. I have handled a few fighters who have dehydtated during a bout and their mobility and muscle cramping leaves them vulnerable!
Not every senerio is a Rocky movie when the fighter goes out on his shield until you know what went on don't pass judgement so quickly give yourself a chance to get more info. This kid doesn't want to make excuses for his poor decision to begin with but I have a feeling theres poor decisions by everyone in his camp and family to begin with. Boxing fans need to show some heart just like we want out favorite fighters to do but when the situation is an empty tank and the stations are closed your "motor" stops! Reality is a *****! Ray.

The look on Morales' face in the first round of Pacquiao-Morales III was unforgettable. His spirit was broken not his body, you could see it in his face.

Oscar dropping to the floor and writhing in the worst ever agony after a left arm punch bounced off of his side against Hopkins.

Oscar took your money and ran with it that night.

Duran quiting is the worst situation for me. You'd think there was some incredible reason for it but if you followed Duran there maybe nothing to it. When he lost his backing team (Arcel & Brown) it just wasn't the same.

The second is Tyson quiting on Evander and again I doubt that happens if his team stayed intact through the years.

Boxers can be brutal and extremely tuff men but most have some vulnerabity with them and it manifests itself most often from being totally uncomfortable with their surroundings (Team)!
Its a individual affair but the team is extremely important. Ray

Duran's mind was ****ed by Leonard's tactics, period. There was no stomach issues...it was just a guy used to drawing people into his game getting clowned by a guy he despised.

How do you know that? Are you saying Duran didn't feel like chasing Ray all night? He certainly knew Ray was coming to box not fight as he did in their first bout, so Duran quit instead of chasing Ray?

I think he turned dog during training and trained to make weight and had nothing entering the ring and instead of trying he just said to hell with this!
Fighting at 155lbs, making weight for 147 when your coming from 205lbs is a long long way to go. When he fought at 135 he would go up to 180 all of this shedding weight is terrible for maintaining strengths. Couple that with close to 10 years of this very unhealthy situation its not easy. Thats why Duran survived as a middle or super middle or all those ****** weight contracts he signed. He had more strength without dealing with 50lb weight loses so his training camp was geared for boxing not weight loss. Duran didn't need alot of training time he knew how to box long before all the "over the weight bouts occur"! His talent and experince got him by for a little time.

Do I know it for sure? No, but in the history of boxing how many times do you know of a fighter quitting because of stomach cramps? We are to believe that this all time great is that rare fighter in history to have pains so bad that he's forced to bail? Why do I think if Duran was landing on Ray more than he was he wouldn't have developed those magical stomach issues?

I'm sure fighters have fought with bad stomach pains....but this is the one who quits from them? Highly unlikely. He was beaten mentally that night, and it was his own machismo that backfired on him. At the moment he quit he thought there was more honor in surrendering in that kind of non-fight than to keep fighting through it.
