I like Dempsey, too. But I think he'd be a bit overrated if we place him as high as what OP says. What were his boxing landmarks and why would someone think they stand out over other old-timers like Louis & Marciano? Mind-boggling...

well i have him number 2 and have no issue with people rating him number 1. But anybody who has him at anything other than 1 or 2 should be banned from this section permanently

Rank him at 1...no probs with anyone ranking him at 2...him or Ali are top 2 basically..depends on how you look at them...but anything other than top 2 is a bit hard to digest.

Went against some tuff fighters. Never wasted a single movement, was nothing business. His punches, his foot work, absolutely nothing wasnt calculated and without purpose. Didnt play around and was good setting up his opponent for the counter.
