I think Bute (yeah he just got ktfo) has a more vicious, yet different body game. Rigo's counter body work is good too. Hell, ynderrated body work goes to Floyd. When he was younger his body was was pretty vicious

Id actually forgotten about Bute! I still rate Saul's over his but Lucien has the best single shot power/placement in world boxing, the left hand to the midsection sucks people's soul's out!
Floyd places his body shots brilliantly, his jab downstairs catches up with guys late i feel and it stops their forward motion for a second while scoring points, he also slips in some tasty looking right hooks in his combinations down there even now but it has gotten less and less of a factor in his fights

I could too... But lets be honest, how many times has this thread been made? Ive been here over five years damn near every day and this threads been made at the minimum 60-70 times since Ive been here and everytime the thread has the same names in it.

No fault of anyones, because those were the best body punchers but it gets boring, say someone else.

jones spent most of his fights too far away to hit the body, and he honestly went there very rarely compared to some of the more prolific body punchers.


the intent with most body punching is to break a man down over the course of many rounds, and jones didn't work that way. he stayed on the outside and took advantages of his reflexes more than anything else to stay out of harms way and pick spots to beat a man to the punch.



and before he was banished from the section, we had our resident roy jones boytoy in "sctrojans" who would make mention of jones in every thread regarding body punching.



the best one punch body shot knockout i've ever seen is still probably gatti - dorin. left hook to the liver.

I dunno bud, Roy could really put it on a guy to the body when he took the notion, he beat the life out of Prince Badi Ajamu! Jeff Lacy took a nasty body beating too among others and as i said the teak tough Bernard Hopkins said the most hurt he ever was in the ring was from a Roy Jones left hook to the body. Hill wouldnt argue that Jones had a good dig to the body either....

Granted though he didn't sustain it to the point he could be considered the best.
