Personally I don't consider either Fitzsimmons or McLarnin British. Both left as kids & neither one fought in the isles (to my knowledge). If you want to fine, it's all about opinions, but I can't. At least Lewis returned & considered himself British/Canadian/Jamaican and had plenty of fights in the UK. And he's a West Ham fan.

Wilde hands down for me. Lewis up there too (Ted). I always had a soft spot for Jackie Berg but he's probably in the lower reaches of the top ten.

Hmmmm. That must mean the Klits are German since all their fights are in Germany and not the Ukraine :thinking9:

I'm surprised Naseem Hamed hasn't got a mention.

That Barrera loss, has near as dammit destroyed his legacy!

I still think that he is the most talented British fighter I have seen in his prime.

I agree with that. Really surprised how his whole career is dismissed (at least in the US) because he lost a decision to a HOF opponent.

When you act the way he did, people would love a reason to forget about you.

I think if Muhammad had upped and left after his win against Jimmy Ellis, he may have gotten similar treatment. Obviously not as bad, but similar.

I don't see the craze over Jimmy Wilde, he doesn't look that good on paper to me.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned Calzaghe. That win over B Hop should put him in the discussion, not to mention the undefeated record.

Same, really don't see what the appeal is, right he had a very good punching power for such a small guy but overall his resume has NUTTING on Bob Fitzsimmons or McClarnin, sure I've brought it up before but I remember debating with a number of people on here who though that Wilde had an argument for being greater then / on the same level as Ezzard Charles, don't see it at all, silly over rated.
