Of today's fighters is there anybody who actually dislikes Austin Trout!? U may not be a Huge fan but that guy is the definition of a class act, both in and out of the ring, in victory and in defeat. Cool guy

Why doesn't Gamboa have ATG potential? He is the most talented fighter in the world its just a matter of getting fights.

Gamboa has tremendously fast hands, but he is careless and has a shaky chin. If he had fought Adrien Broner he would have been lit up like a Christmas tree.

Martinez is a considerable distance away. His two wins would have to be vs. Mayweather at 154 and Ward at 168 for him even to be considered. Other than that, he has a few decent wins but they definitely do not stand up against the test of time.

Gamboa is 31 and has no big wins of note. None. He'd have to fight and beat 7 or 8 world class fighters from here on in to even have a shot at being thought of as an ATG, and that's not going to happen.

Your standards must be very low if you think either fighter is close to even being HOF worthy, nevermind being ranked as one of the greatest fighters of all-time.

Martinez is not a considerable distance away. His wins vs Chavez Jr and Murray will start to look very good very soon. Most importantly his wins vs P-Will(undefeated top 10 P4P fighter) and Pavlik(undisputed MW champion) are great headline wins that will easily stand the test of time he only needs another win or 2 on that level to solidify himself as an ATG a win against the winner of Froch/Kesler would do the trick

Gamboa as I said he's the most talented fighter in the world its just a matter of getting the fights. Yeah he's 31 years old but he's much younger in fighting years. Oh and Gamboa would make a fool of Broner.

Gamboa is still talented and I still like him and he's still one of my favorites. I'll tell you guys the truth. I just like who I like and I really couldn't care less about ATG rankings. I am interested to know how fighters stack up against those of their era though. How high does Gamboa rank among the other feather and super feathers of today? And why such a longer layoff between fights with him now? He beat one of the featherweight belt holders I know. He holds a belt at super middle now. Looks like there's about 4 other titlists there, I just hope he fights them or can beat the top super feather and win the Ring belt.

I strongly disagree with most of, if not the entirety of this post.
