(As far as the thread goes, I second whoever said Tyson's heart....)
Listen to him talk about something he knows about, and he's very eloquent

I have not looked through the thread so these have probably all been said but whatever!

Mike Tyson's heart is under rated. When he loved the game he was ALL Fight, no dog in him. Shame the way he ended up, there for a pay check with no fighting guts left, nothing but a big punch...

Lennox Lewis is under rated in the chin department. His chin wasnt great but it wasn't bad either, the shots that stopped him were HUGE and from big punchers if limited fighters.

Marvin Hagler's boxing IQ is under rated, the man gets pigeon holed as a pressure fighter who just stormed in. This as the History section is well aware was not true...

Felix Trinidad's body punching. Often overlooked probably because he got away from it at the tail end of his career but it was excellent and devastating when he employed it.

Some over rated fighter qualities would be imo

Joe Calzaghe's speed. Fast yes but not in the same bracket as say a Floyd Mayweather. And its also far easier to throw fast shots in that pitty pat slappy slap manner he did than to throw them with form and power...

Vitali Klitchko's defence. People talk like he is untouchable with his lean back from punches style but he is still wide open to the body despite having great judgement in range. Chisora showed this and any Real good fighter would at least try to take advantage unlike todays chumps. Good defence none the less

Interstate 90 somewhere in Washington or Idaho. I'm not sure exactly where to tell you the truth! I took the pick when I stopped for gas driving east some years back.

          Underrated

          Mike Tyson's heart
          Floyd Mayweather's heart
          Tommy Hearn's boxing ability
          Hagler's boxing ability
          Finito's Lopez - career
some posters say puerto rican fighters do not have heart (cotto) and I don't understand that. I think many of the fighters from puerto rico have great heart and Cotto is included

          Overrated

          Shane Mosley's jab effectiveness
          Joe Calzaghe's hand speed
Ray Robinson's boxing ability or slickness
          Amir Khan's boxing ability

Calzaghe's power.... Calzaghe had good power but couldn't use it due to his brittle hands. The guy knocked down Chris Eubank early in the fight.

I have never seen anyone under-rate Hearns' boxing ability. Most people recognize it as one of the best ever from experience on this board.

Although not as good as his left hook obviously, Tito's right hand could be a deadly weapon.

George Foreman in his younger days (pre Ali, ala Chuvalo fight) was generally more patient in his approach, he didn't simply go in for the kill like most people image when Foremans name is brought up and could be light on his feet not a plodder, pre Ali you see him using his jab effectively as well, a lot of people I see on here only seem to think he prominently used it in his older years which is wrong. Also faster then people think, quite a few for George.

tito had a hard right uppercut and when he got extension on it when he threw it straight it was a great punch.

Definitely. Foreman's jab was excellent, steampole, fast, accurate and very well timed. Wouldn't exactly call him light on his feet but certainly no Valuev plodder.

Consider his power a little overrated however.

I second this! It drives me insane. I always thought it was more stamina issues that led to him being hurt than any issue with his chin.
