Who hear knows anything about them. Ive been reading up allot about them recently but i can't come across any pictures of these guys.

Apparently Sugar Ray Robinson Never fought any of them. :/

Eddie Booker, Charley Burley, Jack Chase, Bert Lytell, Holman Williams, Lloyd Marshall and Cutris Shepard are the original line up of BMR named by Budd Schulberg. Cocoa Kid, Tiger Wade and Bivins were added after, not sure who by.

The only 2 you can make some kind of argument for Robinson not fighting are Burley and Cocoa Kid, Cocoa Kid was a replacement for someone Robinson was supposed to be fighting, the original opponent had some kind of injury / suspended and Kid stepped in Robinson demanded his reward be increased on the spot or he wouldn't get in the ring, Burley was high risk low reward and Robinson wanted more then possible to fight him as well
That's it though, the rest were either finishing up their careers when Robinson hit the scene or weren't in any high position anymore.

Wow

Yeah I have Been reading allot on Charley Burley. How did you find all this? I know i should have probably goggled but wow! I've been trying to research allot of unknown or high level unknown or ducked fighters.

I know the reason why they started that boxing community being African American and all during that time period.

i see some current fighters using ol' school tactics. Daniel Jacobs being KOed by Dmitry Pirog. Looked like a pretty presite replica of Charley Burley imo. I'm surprised allot of these new school trainers aren't looking back and building off these styles! Man the more you think you know about boxing.... the more there is!

My uncle actually saw the likes of Bert Lytell fight and a lot of the Black Murderer's row.

The likes of Eddie Booker, Cocoa Kid, Bert Lytell are absolutley HOF calibur fighters. The fact they have yet to be inducted is frankly a joke.

Luckily other great fighters from the Row get the credit they deserve like Jimmy Bivins, Lloyd Marshall and of course Charely Burley. More recently Holman Williams.

I know one thing, you wouldn't like to bump into them in a dark alley would you!
