He wasn't gonna fight Hagler in 86. He attended Hagler's previous fight with Mugabi and Leonard said that only then when he saw that Hagler had lost a step that he wanted to fight him and knew he could win. Leonard wanted no part of Hagler before that and even admits this himself. He also admitted to some gamesmanship with his rematches with Duran. Hurts his legacy a little, but still a good resume with Benitez and Hearns, being welter champ.

I think Leonard would have beaten any of those fighters. Especially McCrory and Pryor. I don't believe he would have beaten Hagler during that time period and a Hearns fight would have been a 50/50 fight.
