John Mugabi vs Felix Trinidad @ 160lb

Trinidad was one of those fighters that never ignited much interest in me. Granted he had a heck of a punch and he knew how to use it. But in terms of skills, artistry and charisma he seemed somewhat threadbare.
Maybe I've just not watched enough of his fights. I don't know. Or perhaps because he was - I guess through no fault of his own - one of those annoying fighters that power-obsessed fight fans gravitate to and worship in droves.
Mugabi was a rough tough character who had the misfortune of running into one of the greatest boxers in modern times. Yes, he got beat. But he gave a decent account of himself. I seriously doubt Trinidad would have faired much better and his record would certainly have taken a few bullet holes fighting in a much stronger era, IMO.
Who wins between them? Both would be throwing plenty of bombs and connecting. So perhaps it comes down to the stronger chin. I vote Mugabi. But I wouldn't pay to watch it.

He was not one to stick and move on a guy, but he was very patient and set up his bombs very well. He also had great defense when he exchanged with guys, and it was his ABILITY at going toe-to-toe that made him a special fighter.

I hear u in regards to fans putting u off a fighter. Shame its not the fighters fault but it happens. Pacquaio fans tend to do my head in.
I think Trinidad had too much power and too much class for Mugabi. A better fight would be El Feroz vs The Beast...

people seem to forget that Mugubi was a 25-0 power punching monster before Hagler ruined him. And that was a hell of a fight.

Tito delivers a vicious beating over 8 or 9 and tears apart Mugabi. Too accurate and powerful for the wide-open Mugabi.
