C'mon, Mugabi is better and more dangerous than a lot of the guys on Tito's resume. He'd at least be the biggest puncher Tito ever faced, that's for sure.

Trinidad was one of those fighters that never ignited much interest in me. Granted he had a heck of a punch and he knew how to use it. But in terms of skills, artistry and charisma he seemed somewhat threadbare.

Maybe I've just not watched enough of his fights. I don't know. Or perhaps because he was - I guess through no fault of his own - one of those annoying fighters that power-obsessed fight fans gravitate to and worship in droves.

Mugabi was a rough tough character who had the misfortune of running into one of the greatest boxers in modern times. Yes, he got beat. But he gave a decent account of himself. I seriously doubt Trinidad would have faired much better and his record would certainly have taken a few bullet holes fighting in a much stronger era, IMO.

Who wins between them? Both would be throwing plenty of bombs and connecting. So perhaps it comes down to the stronger chin. I vote Mugabi. But I wouldn't pay to watch it.

See, I thought Tito was incredible for the game. He wasn't some undisciplined, wild KO slugger. His offense was incredibly refined....beautifully thrown/thought-out blows, with both hands.

He was not one to stick and move on a guy, but he was very patient and set up his bombs very well. He also had great defense when he exchanged with guys, and it was his ABILITY at going toe-to-toe that made him a special fighter.

A bigger hitter for sure, and Mugabi has a punchers chance but Tito is a far better fighter, some were not impressed with Tito but I think he was one of the few that really stood out in his prime..... Mugabi would have a lot of trouble landing on the mark. I wouldn't recommend to Tito the tactic of going for a quick KO, I would expect him to use his abilities, build up a big points lead, and if he wobbles Mugabi I would expect him to to go for it then.......... Tito was a smarter fighter too, and by a fair margin, I think what I liked about Trinidad was that smartness that I at least saw in him.

I don't think Felix would have gone up to MW if Hagler was champ,,... or at least it would be a big mistake,...... yes, if you want to I will name 30 MW's at least that are too good, too big for Trinidad, Mugabi isn't one of those 30 but.... And he was a true WW,... he had how many fights at MW ??????,... one more than Packey McFarland I think.

Mugabi vs Joppy would be a good fight

Man Trinidad was my favourite active fighter since i first saw him, hell i liked the guy before i even saw him box! He did have skills, he was very patient and had an excellent jab, he'd move around for a while size u up then break u down. Under rated body puncher and some of his combinations were pretty badass, certainly his 2 and 3 punch combinations. But as with many great punchers he fell in love with his power and got away from most of the stuff that made him special in the first place. Im not saying he was ever the worlds greatest pure boxer but when u see him later on in his career, he is so dependant on landing the left hook its pitifu
I hear u in regards to fans putting u off a fighter. Shame its not the fighters fault but it happens. Pacquaio fans tend to do my head in.

I think Trinidad had too much power and too much class for Mugabi. A better fight would be El Feroz vs The Beast...

people seem to forget that Mugubi was a 25-0 power punching monster before Hagler ruined him. And that was a hell of a fight.

Tito delivers a vicious beating over 8 or 9 and tears apart Mugabi. Too accurate and powerful for the wide-open Mugabi.

And most of those wins were against mediocre junior middleweights. If Mugabi was the real thing he wouldn't have been ruined by one fight. Trinidad was much sharper and faster than Mugabi.
