  • Example of a Flicker Jab?

Where can I find an example of a flicker jab? I'm interested in the actual time in the video where it happens too. I wasn't ever able to spot it.

    the guy in your sig

sugar shane mosley flicked his jab out constantly

pick a fight and you'll see it. margarito will do. he flicked his jab out there to get his range (not trying to really damage with it) and then he'd drop the right hand over the top

especially after LW, where he would step into his jab some.

floyd mayweather also throws his jab away (thats why his power punch stats are so high in connect percentage while his other stats are not)

he will throw it out there to get you to bat it away and then he will try and drop the right hand when you're reaching for his left

mayweather is very crafty, though, and if you watch his fights close he will usually throw some stiff jabs in there as well with some real snap.
he sets them up like a power punch. just an incredible boxer.

maybe the most patient man i've ever seen int he ring

Do you mean like using it as a measuring stick sort of, how they just paw it out there? Or something like a quick flicked out almost backhand jab?

I think that's relative to the fact that Mayweather is the smartest/most skilled fighter below 40, by a mile. Against the current crop he sometimes looks like samurai in a pig sty. This is not to take away from him, but if he was born 50 years before, he would not look head and shoulder above the rest (at least in terms of skills and ring IQ) like today. To his credit he showed incredible patience even at 20... already in his first fights he is constantly mixing head and body attack, even when pressing the attack.

bingo I was going to ask about pawing vs flicking.

lol you talking to new england like he's never seen a fighter pre 1990?

floyd mayweather would likely be a head and shoulder above absolutely everybody in terms of his boxing abilities outside of the few great boxers out of any generation

he's one of the best boxers to ever live
there is no era where a package [of skills] like that is commonplace

                sorry

Or just go watch Tommy Hearns.
