i'd say tyson was the more unique talent

its a lot easier winning a fight with a physique and gifts like liston's though, than it is to win one with a physique and gifts like tysons.

"this sport is easy if you got a jab."

longer arms generate better leverage. to punch harder with shorter arms you need speed speed speed. and weird muscles

so in pure "genetic freak (lol)" terms i'd say tyson
    strange man.

Mike Tyson. I have always thought Mike Tyson had the most naturally gifted physique.

Only freaky genetics could give a man 15 inch fists.

6'1 with an 84" reach and 15" fists, and very solid structure to boot.

          I'm going with Liston.

I'm like 103% sure Tyson was on the juice, Liston all the way.

              It's very close.

i'm going with Tyson though. very thickly muscled but very explosive, even at a young age.

You look at similar built guys like Jeff Lacy, they are slow and tire fast.

Liston was a genetic freak too proportion wise, but in lower weights we come across this as well. Like Hagler was 5'9 with 75' reach, thats longer than 6'1 B-Hops reach.

Depends how you define 'freak'. Tyson brought a combination of speed, power, coordination, balance and durability to the fight game that hasn't really been seen before or since, though fighters have trumped him in one or two individual categories. Liston was more of a freak in his physical dimensions.

I'd go for Tyson as being the rarer talent.

this question is pretty subjective. some posters in this thread have mentioned liston's dimensions and tyson's ability and they're both right. i don't think picking either is wrong.
