Wow. I give my opinion and you get offensive. Listen, the guy before mentioned Spinx-Tyson. I was elaborating on that. If you don't like it, kiss my a55. Both guys are trash. It's just that the one getting pummelled looked much worse. This was not impressive given the circumstances. A journeyman today in that division would ko those guys with ease.

Nice thread you've got going here.
I usually answer a question that is asked in a thread topic & then go read what everybody else has to say. This time, I wanted to first read everything all the way thru to see if anybody was going to mention Jack Dempsey vs Jack Willard when it come time to talk about all-time great first round carnage.
Even though Dempsey didn't get him out of there until the 3rd round, whenever I think of all-time great 1st round destruction, Dempsey vs Willard is the fight that pops into my mind. For total ferocity, quality shots, broken bones, battered faces, etc., I think of the number that Dempsey put on Willard.
Everybody always (rightfully) praises Dempsey for that fight, but I say look also at the tremendous heart that Jess Willard displayed in going out for the 2nd & 3rd rounds. Tremendous courage!
You mentioned Dempsey vs Firpo. That was a great fight. But I think that would be a PG-13 compared to a solid R for the Dempsey vs Willard fight.
As for the question you originally posed, that IS one of the all-time lopsided rounds I ever seen. I'm going to rank it in whatever the 2nd slot down said.
I had never seen that footage before. Thanks for sharing it with us!Comment

A mentally defeated fighter,............. I'm sure that many fighters have been there, but very few would ever let anybody see that on their faces. Spinks was different, it was so obvious to anyone that he didn't want to be there. But against Tyson you saw it in some others too, that look of an escapee from gaol caught by the spotlights from the towers above. Come to think of it I think I saw that look in Pattersons "fights" with Liston.Comment
