Tua knocked down Barrett in round twelve, but it wasn’t enough as Barrett won 114-113, 115-112, 115-112. Barrett and Tua fought to a surprising draw in July 2010 and this was to be Tua’s revenge rematch, however instead it turned out to be the 40-year-old Barrett’s first win in over three years and Tua’s career as a serious contender is likely over.
Meh i thought this and the Katsidis figfht were on later.....

Glad Monte and Mike got their wins tho!

Man that ref was worse than Steve Smoger, lol.

Nice Blitz but the winner was kinda left hand happy. He did look a little one dimensional in with a bum.

          and just ****ing on him

he switched it up a bit in the end and threw the uppercut, but a worthy opponent shouldn't be getting hit with that stuff

pretty awesome display of power, though, for a BW
but i've seen far more clinical offensive diplays

knocking him essentially out of the ring twice though is impressive

straight punches sent a man straight back, and if he's not standing on a sound base, he's going down
I've been going through the posts, I don't agree with any rating under a 7, at least you have argued your case. I think some people sort of missed the point of my question, I don't rate this amongst the power KO 1st round fights, I am talking about the sheer number of punches,..... as far as I know, nobody ever landed over a hundred punches without recieving any, all in one round. If I had to name the greatest First round destruction, nobody can go past Dempsey V Firpo, I also agree with Poet that Louis first round destruction of Max is the most clinical and THE most famous. BUT I don't think there's any fight to match Carruthers Vs Toweel 1 in the sheer amount of punches. I would'nt be surprised if some people voted without even watching the clip, I know that NEW ENGLAND did but. Last word on Vic Toweel, Toweel was a real champion who has at least two ATG's on his resume, it appears that Carruthers surprised him and hurt Toweel with one of those first punches. Having said that on Vic Toweel,.... I must say here and now that aboriginal Bantamweight Elley Bennett would have probably knocked Toweel out with his first punch, Bennett hit 5 times harder,.... but Bennett never had an answer for Jimmy Carruthers.

I agree, Tyson V Spinks was a joke, just one punch did it,.... it was kindergarten compared to Carruthers/Toweel................ were talking about a single flurry of over one hundred punches....... Tyson V Spinks was no better than, Marciano V Walcott II or Ali V Liston II... Plus Spinks was half as big as Tyson............. what a disgusting matchup,..... I never even want to ever hear EITHER SPINKs mentioned again...... but I bet I will.

fernando guerrrero threw well over 100 unanswered last year. they were basically all landing

                    it was horrible

on some no hoper in his hometown if i remember correctly.

the dude was just reeling from head and body shots and the ref was like using "footwork" around him showing off and getting different angles of viewing on the beating.

the doc stopped the fight. literally walked through the ropes waving his hands.

mike jones threw a boatload last year trying to get soto-karass out of there in their first fight too. he of course didn't, wasted about 130 punches without landing many, and got dragged into a very high contact fight.

however, this BW knocked his opponent through the ropes in much more brutal fashion. guerrero is also a jr MW. he should be able to hurt guys with one punch and have an easier time knocking a man back

and mcgoorty, bro , i would have voted much higher without the captions after the numbers.

on a pure 1-10 scale i'dgive it probably an eight
                    maybe 8 and a half

didn't want to give it the brilliant tag seeing as he was just sort of lining him up and hammering away

Maybe I should have just left the numbers, did you see that some SA gave it a one ??... Somebody don't like me, Boo hoo... how can I go on ???. Oh the pain,... lol..lol..lol//. I can understand your interpretation of the brilliant thing, of course the ref should have saved Toweel after 20, and it didn't need much skill, I think he was on ***** street from that first hard punch. But I do think that 127 punches in a flat minute is simply amazing, imagine Wlad doing that ????.... lol....lol....lol.
