Yes, there was a modifier for going up and/or down in weight and there were some different versions of fighters as they changed weights, so it was pretty unlimited what you could do with the game. It wasn't perfect but it was really good, it took a lot into account, and was great fun. Keep in mind, the game came out in 1979 (I was 9 and the first edition I had came with the first version of the player cards) and as the years went on there were updates, and newer/more fighters added. When they finally issued a Tyson card, I was thrilled...

Actually the simulator I use IS Title Bout, just in a computer format. It was created by the same designer of the original Avalon Hill table-top sim. It works on the same principles and same basic format but being a computer sim allows a lot more to be brought into the picture. Sho, if you looked at the fighter data in the computer sim you'd recognize the components immediately. It's pretty much the game you remember just expanded and the computer doing all the work for you :grin9:

Yeah, I still need to get to Louis-Holmes. I want to run a hundred bouts between them then post the representitive example. I just have to get to the point where I don't have a bunch of other stuff running on my 'puter :hah9:

I never liked the computer version as much as the paper version. There was something very enjoyable about the players cards themselves, going thru them, and then flipping the action cards and keeping score of everything on the score sheet. And of course, imagining the fight in my head as it developed, and even doing my own "call" of the fight. In the computer game, you just pick the fighters, hit start and it does it all for ya, IMO not nearly as fun or as interactive.

But I'm old school like that.

Btw I don't doubt Poet's integrity whatsoever but I thoroughly enjoy "breaking his balls" from time to time and in which he kindly indulges me.
