I like a lot of the old school post-war broadcasters, although they were mostly play-by-play with no deep understanding of the action.

A lot of people can't stand Cosell, but I always liked him. Add in Al Bernstein to the names already mentioned.

Dunphy and Bernstein would be my top choices.

Bernstein has slipped a lot in recent years if you asked me, but if we're talking men at their best, he was great.
