2007 Margarito vs. Carmen Basilio at welterweight? Who wins this fight? The fans would get a show, that's for sure. This would be a crazy Wild West shootout. The two of them are very similar except for the height. Basilio is the more technically proficient infighter, but they both have that savage instinct to punch when hit so any technical proficiency could be thrown out the window quick.

Don't want any questions about plaster. Margarito as he was in 2007. If he had plaster then, then yes with the plaster. If he didn't, then...I think you get my point.

I know. I feel Basilio is just flat out better on the inside in terms of skill, winning him a comfortable UD.

I'm a Margarito fan, but he'd likely be outclassed by Basilio. Margarito would get his shots in though and it would be a hard fought decision.

Basilio would win by a clear decision. Would be a great fight to watch though. Basilo for me is much faster and has more skills then marg. Plus he throws straighter punches and I think he's just a different caliber fighter.

Basilio UD with Margarito becoming competitive with rounds 5 and on. Margarito's comfort in taking punches will be the determining factor in giving away rounds.
