That sums it up nicely. The Tyson who fought Lennox would have KO'd most heavyweights. And with careful matchmaking he could have ran off eight straight wins. But anyone with a shred of objectivity (obviously not the delusional TS) can see Louis had very little left. Why else did he never fight again despite being broke?

Don't know about Tyson KOing other heavyweights. Probably could take a few. Tyson was truly a zombie against Lewis. more then faded. At least Louis was able to land some good shots on Marciano through the fight. with tyson besides that first round got dominated. But totally besides the point.

Louis may have had a little left compared to tyson but the facts are joe louis or tyson weren't really going anywhere major just beacause of how faded they were.

This thread aint about tyson, and no the tyson that fought LL would lose to pretty much any top 5 HW of that time. Plus tyson's style did not suit older fighters. Joe louis had a style that would keep him in the game for a long time.

Hell no it's not under rated, as a matter of fact it's over rated. Marciano beating up an old Joe Louis would be comparable to Marciano beating up an old Larry Holmes as he stands today. It was a mismatch from the start. Marciano is extremely over rated in my eyes.......Rockin'

Well you really don't know much about boxing then.

Not sure how you could compare a 37 year old with a 66-2(1) record to beating up holmes who is like 60 years old

We know it's not about Tyson. That was just an example of how shot Louis was. Almost as past it as Tyson was at the time.

Don't you think the Louis that fought Marciano would get beat by any top 5 HW of all time? come on.

Louis's style depended on timing and precision. while he had great technique through his whole career he couldn't ride on JUST technique and power. He was too slow and sluggish. Simply not that good.

By the way, Prime Louis would destroy prime Marciano. no doubt about it.
