Decent place to start but his articles are not necessarily the most objective, since he usually tries to build up the fighters he is writing about. I can see why he does it but to get true information on the fighters you have to dig a lot deeper. Also has some odd opinions that I don't necessarily agree with, but he attempts to back them up.

For example if you're looking for an objective look on Rocky Marciano, Cox's articles are not the place to start. He is not a big fan of the man to put it mildly.

LOL are you referring to his article about marciano not being a top 5 heavyweight and losing to Mike Tyson? his article about marciano was the 1st of his articles i ever heard.

His rankings are pretty terrible. Not many historians would put liston and tyson in the top 10 HW ATG. I have a hard time putting jack johnson in there either. The fact that he doesn't put marciano in the top 10 shows his bias towards him. No, marciano is not top 5 but easily bottom top 10 HW atg.

And stanley ketchel as a MW ATG is just sillyness

Put it this way, if Bert Sugar is "credible" then Monte Cox is very great.
Monte mostly states facts...Bert sometimes make up facts. Big difference. Over the years I have heard so much from Sugar, that I have lost a bit off respect for him.

Wow, his WW list is freakishly similar to mine. Atleast in terms of names.

I have never actually seen these lists before.

I have seen both you and JAB refer to The Great One recently. Is there a reason for that or do you just like him?

He's my all time favourite wrestler, by the way.

Probably because he's a boss. I actually shelled out money to watch Wrestlemania this year because he was hosting it. That dude was like my idol growing up.
