    Spinks had superior boxing skills. I think he could have boxed tyson's ears off if he wasn't scared.

        Spinks shat himself and blew it big time vs Mike, he did NOT give an acurate account of how good he was that night but he didnt just lie down and quit - he got ICED! Tyson smashed him. Truth be told he never beats Mike Tyson scared to death or not.

        Still he would have fared far better if his trunks hadnt been swimming in his own *****

          I don't dispute Spinks' talent and achievements at the lower weight. And I have a lot of respect for fighters who know when to quit.

          That said, he let himself and his fans (arguably the greater crime) down badly against Tyson. For all Tyson's energy and aggression Spinks had the ability to - at the very least - make the fight competitive.

          When people ask me a question like "What do you think the attributes of a 'Champion Fighter'" are?" I sometimes find it easier to list the things champion fighters don't do. And right near the top is what I point at when I watch Spinks underperforming against Tyson.
