I've come to expect moronic comments from Forza but this one takes the cake: It's about as ******ed as anything I've ever seen him post and that's saying something.

He got out at the perfect time imo, something not a lot of boxers do and end up paying for it..
Yeah I guess Spinks played his cards right and had nothing left to prove.

But was there anything for him to gain moving down to CW? Maybe he could have had some success there?

CW was in poor condition at the time, there was nothing big to gain from moving down. Could of gained a few more wins but it wouldn't have really meant much.

I admire fighters like Spinks, Tunney, Lewis, etc. They got out of the game with their brains and their money. And you never hear anything negative about their post boxing lives.

Spinks was outstanding, he had it all, except for speed maybe. He was outstanding technician, had a nice footwork, great power at 175 and decent power as a hw. Very well balanced fighter for his height.

It did have a powerful influence on the fight. Spinks legs were jelly, there was nowhere he could run. Mike himself said that he saw fear in his eyes when they stood face to face. Once a predator like Mike feels fear, its over, no chance you can win.

Even if Spinks was at his best (as good as he could be as a heavyweight), he'd have lost to Tyson. But, I agree with Pastrano that he was indeed gripped by fear. Of all of Tyson's KOs, this one only ranks behind the Seldon KO in terms of ****tiness. The punches Tyson floored Spinks with were hardly devastating looking, and it was Spinks' fear that made them have such an effect.

I remember watching the live broadcast, Larry Merchant said before the match, "at some point in this fight Michael Spinks will be hit harder than he ever has before". Spinks no doubt realized this as well and took a more painless way out.

I walked out of the Spectrum (closed-circuit) feeling a bit cheated. Now, first round KOs are fine with me- they're part of boxing and were fairly common with Tyson, but....the fact that it was such a dubious-looking KO is what made me feel cheated.

Don't know if Spinks said "**** it" and took a seat, or if his immense fear made him so vulnerable. Either way- IT ******.

The Tyson fans who think this was his best fight, are way off.
