How big was this fight when it happened? How was Winky perceived at that time? Did anybody here expect an upset? What was the boxing media's perception on the fight? What did people think as they saw Mosley being beat to the punch?

I'm watching the fight right now. I didn't watch boxing back in those days. I was still in high school and didn't end up becoming a fan until 2006.

    It was a big fight.

Shane was considered one of the best fighters in the world and Winky was considered one of the best Jr Middleweights in the world. Especially how Shane was coming off his 2nd win over Oscar (Although he didn't look too great)

Mosley wasn't expected to lose, put it that way. Shane had fought much better fighters than Winky at that time and the fact Shane was so fast, explosive and exciting the general consesus was Shane was going to beat Winky. Winky was the underdog but I can't remember the odds.

I expected Winky to beat Shane. Considering his struggle with Forrest's jab I figured Winky would give him alot of trouble with his exceptional jab. Plus, he didn't look great Vs Oscar and I actually thought Oscar beat him.

De La Hoya absolutely beat him. I could not possibly see seven rounds for aMosley who, as it turns out,was using at the time anyway. I also thought Wright would pull the upset, but by a close margin. The second fight was, scoring-wise, more what I predicted the first clash to be --- Wright winning fairly narrowly. He just flat dominated Mosley for long stretches first-time out, though. It was justice, really, because it cost Mosley a championship he really had no business possessing in the first place (both losing clearly on my card to De La Hoya, & the fact he has since conceded to knowingly cheating).

I thought it was a close fight that Oscar won quite clearly personally.

I kind of expected the second fight result aswell, maybe a tad wider. Shane really was exposed by Forrest.

Shane always looked dead averge at 154 to me.

I was lucky enough to get 3-1 odds on Winky against both Mosley and Trinidad.

          Nice payoffs.

3-1 for the Trinidad fight!? Unreal what sentimentality can do to people. Trinidad even in his prime would never have coped with Wright.

              Thanks for the feedback, guys!

I was watching the fight and at one point between rounds they showed Trinidad at ringside and Lampley said that if Mosley won, he would've gone up against Tito. Some fight that would've been...

Kinda sad Winky shocked the world and dominated Trinidad, beat Mosley twice yet still doesn't get half of the respect he deserves. Still is just an afterthought to most fans. Most of the underrated fighters of all time. I love watching his fight video's. A lot of people say "if he had power he would have been something amazing" yet if he had that power I think that would change how he fought and take away what made him special in the beginning.

Motha****er went to Europe to get even remotely recognized. Maybe didn't fight like Gatti but the motha****er definitely had the heart, courage and motivation.
