I'm reading Ghosts of Manila and it is raping my childhood. Someone please tell me it's not completely accurate.
So Ali was basically the ****** equivalent of a scientologist?

I havent read the book, what exactly does it reveal? That Ali went to far with the name callings? That he cheated on all his wives? Beat them? cause I've heard all of it before.Comment

I haven't read the book, but I think that it's acknowledged by most boxing fans that Ali wasn't the nicest of people when he was boxing. He did a lot of things that most of us would disagree with and his actions towards Frazier were particularly distasteful.
But Ali has suffered a lot. Not only that, but he has apologised to Smokin' Joe and tried to make amends.
I'm not keen on the person Ali was, or at least the person he behaved as once the cameras were rolling. But now, in 2011? I think he's tried his best to make amends. Even if you hate how he once behaved, he has suffered enough with his condition to have suffered enough.
Ali, a great boxer and a great man, here and now.Last edited by Clegg; 02-26-2011, 03:46 PM.Comment

I don't take a lot of the stuff he said seriously, if he had left the NOI at that time he would be in fear of his life, Its no coincidence that he left in 1975.Comment
