And I don't think you know much else about the sport other than Tyson this, Tyson that.

If Tyson couldn't KO Tucker or Bonecrusher Smith in his prime, I don't see him having an easy time knocking out someone as tough and savvy as Cooney. As I said in my post, Tyson might win by KO in the first 5-6 rounds. If not, Cooney goes the distance.

Not true. Tyson turned pro in '85 --- Cooney was a recognisable figure at the time, but he was long-removed from being a top Heavy.

Cooney wasn't too much of a factor in the HW scene after losing to Holmes apart from the fact he was a good name on the resume. Shame because he should have been and could have come back from Holmes a better fighter but he fell out of love with boxing. Nothing I saw of Cooney makes me bet against Tyson and I am well aware of Tysons weaknesses

okay seriously, Bonecrusher and Tucker are better then Cooney. All cooney has is a good punch. thats it. and against tyson he wont land it.

Cooney isn't even savvy. or tough. he had a pretty bad chin and could never come back after being hurt. this is a guy that got stopped by spinks.

Cooney's career never recover from the beating Larry Holmes gave to him, there was a Ring Magazine cover of Tyson vs Cooney sometime in 1987 but it is more of a fantasy match up, not a serious talk of a real fight, Cooney actually predicted Tyson would stop Spinks in 3 rounds, the same man who knock him out in 5 a year ago.

Gerry Cooney never beat a contender anywhere near his prime. He had nothing coming. Having been an active fan at the time I can testify that Cooney was never brought up as a Tyson opponent.

A Tyson-Cooney fight might have been interesting because Cooney wasn't a grabber and he'd be trying to land his big hook the whole time. But I don't see this fight going very long no matter how it goes.

Tyson did not duk Cooney. There were words of a possible fight but Cooney had been out of the game for awhile and I believe that his last fight resulted in a loss for Cooney. It wasn't Tyson dukin, it was simply a fight that the public would not credit or back. No public=No money=No promoter would want to touch it.........Rockin'

Of course you would think that, because you don't know any better. 90% of your posts are put into Tyson threads and every single time it's the most ridiculous garbage that stems from hate. Tyson loses to everybody, and watching Tyson is like watching paint dry. Pillow chin Cooney doesn't get knocked out quick, it takes Tyson 6 rounds or he goes the distance. Come on, man, get real, you don't have to like him but to say things like that makes you sound like a hating troll. I have also read posts of yours in the past pertaining to his **** conviction and that seems to be where your hatred stems.

He could never come back after being hurt? That's funny, because I remember him being knocked down and almost out against Holmes in the beginning of their fight, yet he came back and made it a competitive fight.

                      Cooney had heart.
