I had a dream once that I met Patterson in the streets of Brooklyn and he said I only sign autographs to colored folk

His wife, best friend and trainer was white. He didn't hate anybody. Really nice guy, too nice actually. He once lost an amateur fight because he looked his opponent in the eye when they faced off and his opponent smiled at him, he said the kid had a nice face and he didn't want to hurt him. So from then on patterson would put his head down when they faced off or did the weigh ins.
