I specifically remember an interview when Chris Eubank was asked if Benn was the hardest puncher he'd ever faced.. He simply replied, "No, but by far the most hurtful."

I'd say McCllelan had the harder single shot..

          Interesting difference
          .

Gerald seemed the heavier handed, but not necessarily the better ko puncher. Besides Jackson and Norris, both who's chins were far from great,I thin Benn ko'd better fighters. Does this make him the harder puncher?Im not sure.

I think the opposition may lean slightly in Nige's favour but im of the opinion Gerald hit everybit as hard as Jackson and he just hadnt had the chance to prove it against top fighters with top chins yet.

Benn was a real puncher too tho, he even Looked like he wanted his punch to burst right through u! So Tenacious. But Gerald imo shoulda been one of the greats, shame....

Most of Benn's 'pop **** wallop' shots where the opponent was out before he hit the canvas were against mediocre Brits whereas McClellan pulled it off against world class punchers in Jackson, Norris and Mugabe.. Benn's ko of Iran Barkley for example, was an onslaught of punches that didn't exactly put him to sleep.
Same with DeWitt, who was down but not out.. Ok, Barkley and DeWitt had better chins than the others mentioned, but Benn did say that Gerald hit harder than himself during their fight.

I would say Benn had more concussive force...like weight and oomph behind the shot. He was better at beating people down.

McClellans was faster and more snappy. He was better at flat out KOing people.

i think the g-man cause he was heavy handed and got tremendous range on his punches especially his over hand right and left hook to the body.
