Why on earth does boxing produce so many Nut jobs!?
Anyway i loaned my freind some boxing dvds, books and mags a little while ago and he returned them tonight. He was shocked at Ricardo Mayorga and his antics - Machete scars, drag racing, smoking, drinking at press conferences, scuffels, police charges, eating to taunt fighters at the weigh in ect ect.. He asked me is he the craziest fighter ever!???
Im thinking now he might be! But there have been quite a few, Mr Tyson has been know to get a bit wild at times and has led a crazy life.
Ike Ibeabuchi was Really mad! Rid**** Bowe planting Donald always sticks with me, he also had charges for kidnapp. Clifford Ettiene was nuts he is never getting outta jail for the ***** he pulled!Mitch Green was Trouble, fighting/ getting his ass beat by Tyson in the street, in and outta jail, he's had his drivers licence suspended 54 times, been stabbed 8 times shot four times (5 if u count the time he shot himself in the head testing a home made zip gun) he once held up a gas station then spent an hour pumping gas into other peoples cars taking their money too! Maxie Baer always seemed like a crazy guy, Tony Galento, Scott Harrison, Olliver Mcall the list goes on! Lew Jenkins sounds like another Wild man, he used to fight the mexican kids at the back of a bakery for pies. And also local rough necks in a traveling carnival. Lew was often drunk right up until the opening bell, sipping whiskey between rounds to straighten himself out! He didnt care much for trainning either apparently - his sole nod to conditioning was to cut his cigarette intake to 4 on the day of a fight! He fought Fritzie Zivic after getting his head beat in by cops at a local drunk tank, he fought Red Cochrane with 3 broken vertibrae in his neck from a motorbike crackup! During 1 drunken binge he and a pal drove off of a cliff into a clustter of trees! Apparently the next day the mechanic looked at the car wrapped around a tree and offered Lew £250 to which Jenkins replied make it 3 and u can keep the tree too!
And thats just a few of em! Anybody want to name any other crazy boxers or attempt a guess as to why this great sport of ours produces so many damn maniacs!
