I expected him to win, but it shocked me when De La Hoya stopped Vargas. He couldn't stop Castillejo in his previous fight at 154lbs, & the consensus was he'd lost just too much power to beat a tough, bigger man like Vargas via anything but a decision.

Impressive.

And Vargas was juiced to boot. I was not surprised as DLH was on another level from Vargas.

Williams - Martinez 2 surprised the hell out of me.

De La Hoya was on another level pound-for-pound, but at 154lbs, people were justifiably questioning him. Vargas was never as good as De La Hoya, but he was bigger, stronger, & not the damaged goods people often make him out to be when they met. Juicing too, as you put it.

It made for a close fight until the TKO. Vargas won his share of rounds.

I think its a very under rated fight actually. I thought going in Vargas might pull it off

It was very entertaining as a fight, definitely. This & Lewis-Tyson were the biggest events of the Boxing year, but only this fight among the two really delivered an exciting, competitive clash.

Hopkins/Pavlik. I had bet on Hopkins to win after I saw Kelly talking about knocking him out, but I was shocked to see him win all 12 bloody rounds!

Yeah, that surprised me too. At least I had the first 4 rounds right. I predicted that Hopkins would dominate the first 4 but then youth would take over and that Pavlik would take control in the middle rounds.

I never thought that Hopkins would so dominate Pavlik.
