    Fights that Surprised You

What are fights that exceeded your expectations, whether you saw them live or stumbled upon them online? I'll say for sure that Roy Jones vs. Jeff Lacy surprised me. I had just watched Jones-Calzaghe and noticed that this one was after it, but I had already downloaded it so I decided to give it a shot. It's not a good win at all, but it was very entertaining.

JMM vs Diaz 1. I expected it to be a one sided beatdown, and it turned out to be an all out war....

Mosley vs Margacheater...Mosley looked like crap against Mayorga so the cheating **** called him out thinking it would be a walk in the park since he was counted on his magical loaded gloves, then he gets caught, plaster is confiscated and he goes on to get knocked the *** out by Sugar Shane Mosley in a brutal way.

Hopkins-Pascal pops up in my head first. I had low expections and it turned out to be one of the better main events last year.

Was it really? I heard after that B-hop looked good, but I didn't really think much about the fight before the fact. I'll have to check it out.

Hopkins/Pavlik. I had bet on Hopkins to win after I saw Kelly talking about knocking him out, but I was shocked to see him win all 12 bloody rounds!

A lot of it may have been the live drama of Hopkins coming from behind to almost win the title. Not so sure a replay captures that as well. After the Jones rematch I never wanted to see Hopkins fight again, so this fight was a nice way to end the year after low expectations.

Jamie Moore vs Ryan Rhodes, i expected one way traffic with Moore dominating but was treated to one of the better fights ive seen tho the result was gutting!

I expected him to win, but it shocked me when De La Hoya stopped Vargas. He couldn't stop Castillejo in his previous fight at 154lbs, & the consensus was he'd lost just too much power to beat a tough, bigger man like Vargas via anything but a decision.

                  Impressive.
