He's right. Elbows lend themselves very well to cuts. The frequency of severe cuts in MMA is much higher accordingly.

This is why most old school fans will tell you allowing elbows to the head on the ground while banning knees is absolutely ridiculous (American rules). Elbows do almost nothing but cause cuts, while knees are the most important strike from side control or north-south.

Standing knee, which is legal anywhere. It's pretty rare for them to cause cuts though. The vast majority of cuts come from elbows.

Ummmm, that Roy Jones not Calzaghe. It's who had the worst cut, not caused the worst cut.

Geez man. The Klitschko cut is probably the worst I've seen in my lifetime but there have been so many brutal cuts.

The Barrera cut against Khan still pisses me off. That should have been stopped immediately but instead they deliberately carry on until just after the fourth round and then stop it just so the prick can win, even though from the moment it happened it was impossible to see through, couldn't have been stopped and got no worse. ****ers. Disgraceful corrupt win.

Not saying it was as bad as the cut that Tengoshi posted but James Toneys cut against Tim Littles was huge!
