Taylor was still pretty good after the Chavez fight. Not quite the same though, especially at the higher weight, and I thought Team Taylor shamelessly cashed out on Taylor against Norris.

I parallel Trinidad-Vargas to Chavez-Taylor 1. Vargas and Taylor being the undefeated American champs with the good amateur background, who fought hard-hitting, undefeated Latino champs who won titles in 3 divisions (2 at the time for Tito) and whom had much more experienced. Both were classic fights which ended in 12th round TKOs for the more experienced champs.

Both fights took something out of Vargas & Taylor. They had some decent wins and good performances afterwards (more so for Taylor, who had the 2nd best win of his career against Davis). Both of them generally took a lot of punishment in general. Taylor obviously fought on too long, and Vargas may be headed that same way, as I hear he's having money problems and possibly planning a comeback.

      Bernard Hopkins-Felix Trinidad

Not really the physical punishment, but I don't think Trinidad was the same mentally.

      Roberto Duran-Davey Moore

The matchup of him and Padilla is bizarre in the times of their careers. I always think of Michael Nunn when I think of him, its a shame both of them couldn't stay out of trouble.

had it been someone else other then cooney norton may have prevailed
in that case I would say say shavers ruined him

I disagree but can respect your opinion. My reason being that I think 1. Norton was already past his best for either Shavers or Cooney, and 2. I believe it takes more out of you mentally and physically and is more grueling to go thru a 15 round war such as with Holmes and come out on the short end of the stick. Jmo.

Micahel Nunn/Toney is a good one. Was the next coming before that fight and then just lost it.

A big one is Jeff Fenech vs Azumah Nelson I. Undefeated three division champ and was royally screwed by Don King in that fight after winning about nine rounds and only getting a draw. He would have been the first undefeated four division champ in history. As it was, that robbery completely destroyed his spirit. He never won another fight of any significance at all, never even performed close to what he had before that fight and was suddenly unable to take a punch when he had previously had a great chin and hadn't been close to ever being stopped.

He would of course get knocked out in the rematch, then against Calvin Grove, Phillip Holliday etc. Guys who had no business beating him, let along stopping him in a couple of lopsided rounds.

He had taken the best and won against huge punchers and HOFers yet after that one fight, he just dropped off and could never fight properly again or take a punch. Sad what a robbery can do to a fighter.

              Don King that ****er.

Possibly it was Holyfield but it seems Golota not only ruined Bowe but his *** life as well.
